Can I use A1863 in US and Japan if I buy it in US?
Hey, I am from Germany and want to buy an iPhone 8 in the US.
Which model do I have to take in order to use it with one of the German carriers (Telekom, O2 Telefonica, Vodafone)?
For me, it is important that I can phone and use LTE.
Thank you very much in advance!
1863 or 1864. The CDMA versions include that and pretty much all flavors of GSM and LTE. They are not locked and are universal. The 1897, which I have, is a locked GSM, LTE version that works in most of Western Europe, but it is locked to T-Mobile and does not support CDMA (India, Verizon and Sprint…but Sprint is being sold to T-Mobile and will be purely GSM in a year. You will not need a different phone to move from Sprint to T-Mobile. The Sprint 1863/1864 works fine on a GSM network.
Can I use the MODEL – A1863 in Greece?
The iPhone a1905 works fine on Verizon

I really appreciate your help.
Thank you very much for your time.

Regarding the models sold in Japan this article is a bit misleading. According to apples website the difference in FeliCa support was true for iPhone 7 and 7 plus, but not in iPhone 8 and 8 plus. The difference in 8 and 8 plus japan models is support for certain LTE-bands.
